Build LogClaudeTools

Create a wedding planning website that doesn't suck (like Zola!)

I built our wedding tracker with Claude Code, GitHub, Vercel, Supabase and Resend. Here's the stack and a prompt to start your own.

To be clear, you should absolutely not rebuild Zola for your wedding, unless you're experienced! We used Zola to help us design and print our Save the Dates and Invitations, which was really helpful, even if their editor was harder to use than Microsoft Paint (RIP).

But so much of the rest of the wedding organization and planning has felt super disjointed and hard to keep track of.

SO, I built the tool we wanted!

Our website tracker allows any stakeholder (lol) to log in and view their relevant piece of the organizational puzzle.

I can give a login to my mom, my future mother in law, or even the band, to see their relevant information, like the guest list or run-of-show.

It's been really helpful because I integrated it with Resend, a developer-friendly email service that emails users at 7, 3, and 1 days out from important deadlines.

Here's the stack:

  1. Claude Code - dev
  2. GitHub - cloud
  3. Vercel - hosting
  4. Supabase - database & auth
  5. Resend - email service

It honestly didn't take that long to do this, and the only annoying part was the tediousness of figuring out some of the DNS requirements for the subdomain and the tokens for the environment variables in Vercel/Resend.

It's a little slow, I think because it does a query into the Supabase everytime it loads up lol, but I am not a developer so the fact that this just works and sends reminder emails to the people I need it to on time is all I really need.

A prompt to get you started

If you want to try it, paste this into Claude Code and let it drive:

Build me a private wedding planning dashboard.

Stack: Next.js on Vercel, Supabase for the database and login,
Resend for email.

What it needs to do:
- Track every vendor: contract total, paid so far, what's left
- Track every deadline and payment, with a due date and who owes it
- Email whoever owes it at 7, 3 and 1 days out
- Let me invite people by email and pick what each person can see
- No passwords. Email people a login link.

Design the database tables first and show them to me before you
write any pages.

If you don't want to deal with GitHub and Vercel at all, ask Claude for an artifact instead. You get a page you can share by link in one message. It won't send the reminder emails, but it's a cheap way to see the idea before you commit to the real thing.

If you need any more help than this, I am thinking of making a YouTube video that breaks down all of the steps.

Let me know below if that's something you would want.

If you're reading this, you're probably getting married, so congrats, and good luck!!

Cheers,

Matty C
